Business Directories Added

In a rush of post-Christmas enthusiasm we have added a new business directory feature to most of our sites. These list (free of charge!) businesses related to the main ethos of each of the specialist sites. So the Vegetarian Holiday site shows vegetarian restaurants and shops and the Dog Friendly Holidays site shows pet supplies stores. If the idea proves popular, we plan to add more directory categories in the future, any suggestions are always welcome but ones that spring to mind are pet-friendly travel services, wifi hardware suppliers and so on.
Vegetarian Recipe Feeds Added

We have recently added the first of what we hope will be a growing number of vegetarian recipe pages to our Vegetarian Holiday site. The recipes come from other sites (with their permission!) in the form of RSS feeds. We show a random recipe from a random recipe feed on our home page and then the full list of recipes in a separate Vegetarian Recipe area. We only display the 'headline' from the recipe on our site and that links to the original website for the full recipe details.
New Vegetarian Holiday Website Launched

The latest addition to the Holiday Venues suite of websites was launched in September 2008. Vegetarian-Holiday.com aims to provide advertising space ONLY for accommodation providing extensive if not exclusive vegetarian fare. Figures produced by the Food Standard Agency indicate that somewhere between 2% and 5% if the population are wholly or partly vegetarian. Advertiser Tracking Data

We have added a basic mechanism for tracking views and visits for advertisers pages. From this date onwards, every time a locations full details page is requested, a 'views' counter is incremented. In addition, if a visitor clicks on the 'Visit Website' link on an advertisers details page a 'visits' counter is incremented. This data can be viewed via the Location Editor page.
